A Review of the Smooth 6.75 Treadmill
Smooth Fitness has launched another addition to its growing line of fitness machines and this Smooth 6.75 treadmill review aims to discover what’s there to be excited (or not) about this new treadmill. When it was introduced in November 2009, the 6.75 was said to be replacing the Smooth 6.45. So what has changed and what has not? Let’s take a closer look at the basic specs as well as the new features that this latest model has to offer.
A spin-off from the 6.45
For those who are using the Smooth 6.45, I’m sure you have found little to complain about in this treadmill. It is a powerful, solid machine that also bears the reliability that Smooth Fitness equipments are known to have. Well, if you liked the 6.45, then you’re bound to like the Smooth 6.75 even better.
As far as basic specs are concerned, the Smooth 6.75 retains the 20 by 60 inches walking surface which should already be ample space for most users, the quiet 3.0 HP continuous duty motor, the top speed of 12 mph, and a maximum incline of 15. As with its predecessor, the 6.75 can also hold a user up to 350 lbs, and is equipped with heart rate control and hand pulse grips.
So what’s new with the 6.75?
At this point in the Smooth 6.75 treadmill review, you must be wondering already why Smooth Fitness even bothered to introduce a new machine that doesn’t seem to be any different from the original model. But the 6.75 has more to offer. The biggest changes worth noting are the dual-stage, soft-drop folding feature, and the deluxe sound system. This treadmill also got a slight size and weight reduction from the older model, so it’s now easier to fold and store.
Other upgrades that this treadmill offers are the oversized, dual-color LCD display, hand rail toggle switches for easier adjusting of the speed and incline, and a two-speed fan.
Is it worth the price?
No Smooth 6.75 treadmill review would be complete without talking about its cost. With this equipment priced at a steep 1,799 dollars, I’d be the first to acknowledge that you’d still be able to get a treadmill at a lower price that could serve you just as well. But keep in mind that with feature-rich machines such as the Smooth 6.75, you are paying for not only the equipment itself, but also from the superb running experience you get.
And just like most Smooth Fitness treadmills, the 6.75 also comes with a product warranty that other treadmill manufacturers would find hard to match – lifetime warranty for frame and motor, 5 years for electronic parts, and 2 years for labor.
Final thoughts
At this point (Nov 2009), the Smooth 6.75 treadmill has only been introduced for only a few weeks so it’s hard to find even a single feedback from an owner or user of the treadmill. And this is perhaps the only obvious setback, if you can call it that, I can find with this machine. But features-wise though, the 6.75 looks to be another powerful and reliable treadmill the likes of which you can expect from Smooth Fitness. The bottom line of this Smooth 6.75 treadmill review is that while this equipment may be on the pricey side, it’s worth it.
